David Rowe

David Rowe's poetry has appeared in Exquisite Corpse, North American Review, YAWP, Burning Bush (Ireland), and the anthology, Maple Leaf Rag III. The father of a little girl, Zoya, he never understood how a hunk of fruit could explain the Fall of Man until he heard her enunciate "ap-ple."

Love Supreme

De-demonizing the spots
between linoleum & wainscot
after yet another of our Brooklyn donnybrooks,
we mean to re-invent the whole premise,
redeem the promise
of our rent-control premises.
Item: harmonica in the turtle tank
(begins the histrionic inventory);
house key as coke spoon;
house plant as scapegoat;
an encryption of boots bottles books
arrayed on the kitchen table
& Love Supreme's just another ashtray.
