a garden of yucca rooted
in guayiga wine and storm
meaning one-legged poinciana
witching switches whipped
cloud wall coalesces
like an eye in the ether
of a womb, one eye
cinched anarchic—a ball
lightning furnace; unchained, un-
hinged anhingas in hurled
rain harrowed canefields
moss grows in island hummocks
you can't weigh your mooring rope
around this waist. calamity
and palm snap—I can, I can—
comes laughing upcoast
a cacophonous flood,
a name, a nameless.
